Apostille in the UK

This is where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK, confirms that the signature, seal or stamp of a notary or public official is true and genuine.

All countries that accept an Apostille are parties to the Hague Convention, one of many treaties negotiated at the Hague Conference - a global inter-governmental organisation promoting the harmonisation of any conflict of law principles within international law.

Apostille in the US

This is where the U.S. State Department and/or Local Secretary of State’s office, confirm that the signature, seal or stamp of a notary or public official is true and genuine. We are able to legalise documents in any of the 50 U.S. States which includes Washington DC.

Once the document has been apostilled it can be presented to any country (within the Hague Convention) which recognises the Apostille and the authority receiving the document should then accept the seals or signatures as true and valid without requesting further evidence or proof.
